SpatialAnalyzer^® Sees another Year of Extensive Product Development in 2011

January 10, 2012—Williamsburg, VA:  Over the last 12 months, New River Kinematics (NRK) has continued to actively develop and enhance SpatialAnalyzer^® (SA), its flagship software, in order to advance customer capabilities and meet market needs.  SA is widely recognized as the premier portable metrology software package by aerospace, shipbuilding, and other large-scale manufacturers.  Taking into consideration user feedback and requests, development over the course of 2011 has led to six official releases and over 1,000 improvements to SA.

A 64-bit release of SA was introduced in December 2011.  This advancement enhances performance and allows users to work with larger CAD models and more data.  Dimensioning capability within SA was also improved, making dimensional distances and angles visual and more intuitive. 

SA Remote, the official SA iOS app, allows users to view real-time 3-DOF and 6-DOF spatial data and control laser trackers remotely from an iPhone®, iPod® touch, or iPad®.  Released in October 2011, SA Remote has proven very popular among users and is available for free download at the Apple App Store.

Further 2011 product development included the addition of the Frame Wizard, which provides an easy way to dynamically construct coordinate frames.  The redesign of the Geometry Fitting interface was another significant improvement that allows for fast, interactive fitting.  Measurement Plan (the automation engine in SA) has also continued to grow to suit the needs of customers performing totally automated metrology tasks.
